Lunch programs and the annual Holiday
Lunch. Each meeting is designed to present and discuss
topics of interest to property professionals, to provide an
opportunity to meet with other building owners and managers,
and to meet and discuss issues with Associate Members.
In an effort to provide important news and information to
the entire building management team, the following have been
added: bimonthly breakfasts for member-building
engineers along with bimonthly program lunches for
member-property management assistants.
The BOMA International Annual Conference and The Office Building Show
is held each June. Trade shows, educational workshops and
celebrity speakers highlight this spectacular national
event. Additionally, the annual Winter Business Meeting
offers workshops and forums for BOMA leaders.

a relaxed setting and learn about their various goods and

This annual event is preceded by an education session
featuring a keynote speaker and concurrent workshops on
timely industry topics.
Annual Racetrack and Golf events provide additional

members. After hours Showcase events shine the spotlight on member
buildings and businesses. Tours are given and individuals
have the opportunity to meet with other area property

As a new service to members, BOMA/Suburban Chicago has
teamed up with Environmental Systems Design, Inc. to bring
you an ENERGYSTAR HOTLINE. Aliza Skolnik at ESD is
able to answer questions regarding the EnergyStar process
including Portfolio Manager data collection; space type,
square footage, occupancy, computer, operating hours, and
transient inputs; special space or energy use types; where
to get the energy data; and how to enter energy information.
She will not address issues that the building managers are
having with their energy provider, answer questions
regarding Whole Building Energy Data or Energy Insights
website, or verify the data that they have is in fact
representative of their entire facility. Call Aliza at

...as a Regular Member.
A Regular Member is a commercial building or property
represented by a designated individual; or is an individual
who is an investor, developer, leasing/marketing
representative, or other who earns a primary livelihood from
associated disciplines located within the boundaries of the
Association. Such individual may become a Regular Member as
a Real Estate Professional. When a building is the basis of membership the
building is designated a "Member Building."
...as an Alternate Member.
An additional representative from a Member Building is an
Alternate Member. Alternate Members do not have voting
rights.
...as an Associate Member.
Associate Members are firms that supply goods and/or
services to office buildings or other commercial
properties. Each Associate member firm is allowed to
designate one person as its representative. An alternate
may participate in the absence of the designated
representative. Membership is limited by category and shall
not exceed one Associate for each two Regular
Members.
...as a Local Honorary Member.
A Local Honorary member is any person who is or has been a
Regular, Alternate or Associate member and has rendered
distinguished service to the Association or to the industry
it represents. This membership is selected by the Board of
Directors and recipients shall not hold office or be
entitled to vote.
...as a Special Member.
A Special Member is an unemployed or retired, long-term
Regular Member who does not have a building to represent,
but desires to continue participation in the Association.
