E-Seminars

Developed in conjunction with Intellum, Inc. and Healthy Buildings International, Inc (HBI), Molds in Commercial Buildings is designed to help commercial real estate professionals understand and prevent the burgeoning, and often costly, issues that molds in buildings can present. To learn more about this web-based training curriculum, click on the slide at the left.  For more information click here.
Another BOMA International's e-Seminar is Benchmarking: Tools for Measuring Operational Performance.  Benchmarking operational expenses and income can serve as an important management tool for analyzing a commercial property's financial performance. Learn how to assess the value of investment properties and how to identify opportunities to improve operations, trim costs, and enhance the value of a real estate asset. This course features BOMA's Experience Exchange Report and highlights how the industry-wide operating and income expense data compiled in the EER can be leveraged as a management tool.  For more information click here.

Investors rely on Property Condition Assessments (PCA) to provide information and analysis of the physical condition of a property, and to minimize the risk associated with acquisition. This course module will outline the components of a PCA and discuss how the investigation, inspection, research, and analysis of the physical portions of the building and site are used to assess the current condition, remaining useful life, and cost estimates for the repair and/or replacement of individual components and systems. Learn what is typically included within the scope of a Property Condition Assessment and typical non-scope parameters and how this information can be used by property and facility managers, once the property has been purchased.  For more information on this on-line seminar, click here.  (A BOMA-BOMI Partnership Product)

BOMA International's newest e-seminar is Preparing Buildings for Sheltering in Place.  Through this course, you will learn what sheltering in place is, and how it differs from simply providing shelter. The conditions that warrant a shelter in place scenario will be detailed, from severe weather to HAZMAT incidents to terror threats. You will also learn how to create a shelter-in-place team who can implement the plans and manage the Sheltering in Place incident.  You will also delve into the nuts and bolts of executing the shelter in place procedures. Who gives the order to shelter in place? Who determines when evacuation is safe? This course will answer these questions and offer guidance on establishing lines of authority and succession in emergency situations. It will also cover how to determine a shelter in place location, how to equip the shelter in place location, and how a shelter in place plan coordinates with other building emergency plans, as well as how to test your plan.  For more information on this on-line seminar, click here.   (A BOMA-BOMI Partnership Product)

BOMI International offers an e-seminar on Comprehensive Building Security Planning.  When comparing office spaces for lease, prospective tenants view the quality and breadth of a building’s security program as a key comparison factor. A security plan is not only about protecting assets and minimizing liability, it’s also about attracting and retaining tenants. A comprehensive security plan can provide proactive measures to identify threats and manage them prior to any threat becoming reality.  For more information, click here.
