Investors rely on Property Condition Assessments (PCA) to provide information and analysis of the physical condition of a property, and to minimize the risk associated with acquisition. This course module will outline the components of a PCA and discuss how the investigation, inspection, research, and analysis of the physical portions of the building and site are used to assess the current condition, remaining useful life, and cost estimates for the repair and/or replacement of individual components and systems. BOMA International's newest e-seminar is Preparing Buildings for Sheltering in Place.  Through this course, you will learn what sheltering in place is, and how it differs from simply providing shelter. The conditions that warrant a shelter in place scenario will be detailed, from severe weather to HAZMAT incidents to terror threats. You will also learn how to create a shelter-in-place team who can implement the plans and manage the Sheltering in Place incident.  You will also delve into the nuts and bolts of executing the shelter in place procedures. Who gives the order to shelter in place? Who determines when evacuation is safe? This course will answer these questions and offer guidance on establishing lines of authority and succession in emergency situations.
