Developing Leaders Fall Program: Difficult Conversations

Do you get nervous when you need to have a difficult conversation with your superior? Do your nerves prevent you from getting your point across? Do you clam up when you have to tell someone something that makes you uncomfortable?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you don't want to miss the Developing Leaders Fall Program on Difficult Conversations! At this informative event, a panel of industry leaders will lead a thoughtful discussion on how to handle difficult conversations with others in several different scenarios. You'll learn conversation tips that can be applied to situations throughout business encounters among your peers, colleagues, and managers. Attendees will also be given an opportunity to interact with others seated at their table on this topic to gain valuable insight.

Panelists Include:

  • Cathi Carlson, RPA, Vice President, General Manager, GlenStar Asset Management LLC
  • Tim Chimack, Vice President/Partner, Rose Paving LLC
  • Jeff Venable, Vice President/Group Manager, JLL
  • Moderator: Lindy Schrik, LEED AP, General Manager, JLL

Below are some questions to start thinking about before the event:

  • How do you garner the respect of someone with more experience when you first meet them?
  • How do you say no without making someone feel rejected?
  • How do you handle someone who is not working to their potential? Do you encourage them or go to their boss?
Refreshments and appetizers will be provided. A one-hour game card for Level 257's expansive game room is included with registration. Non-member vendors will not be admitted.
