Mindfulness and Meditation presented by Amy Roth, LCSW

Brought to you by the Program Committee

You get to work and you already have three messages from tenants in your building and your Chief Engineer happened to call in sick the same day the HVAC system decided to go on the fritz. If that weren't bad enough, your building owner decided to show up for an unexpected lunch meeting. Who can eat at a time like this? At lunch you find out you are going to be given more responsibilities and an even greater workload. You head back to your office to finish dealing with the problems from the morning and find even more issues have arisen. You work diligently into the afternoon to address all the concerns of the day and you unintentionally end up staying late. You get home late feeling exhausted and irritable from the events of the day.

If you have ever had a day like this, then you don't want to miss the May Members Lunch on Mindfulness and Meditation. Many studies have shown the various health benefits of meditation, including reducing stress and anxiety. Amy Roth, LCSW, leader of the Tergar Meditation Community in Chicago, will provide you with a basic instruction on meditation techniques and the tools for starting your own meditation practice and applying it to your daily life. In addition, she'll also walk you through a guided meditation. Plus, she'll explain the neuroscience research that shows the many benefits of meditation. Namaste.
